As part of the events marking the anniversary of Benue State University at 30, Professor Falola is in Benue State to give a Distinguished Lecture and offer his congratulations on their achievements.
Professor Falola was received by the entire members of the History Department. Professor Elijah Ikpanor, Director of the Linkage Programs, led the delegation that extended a warm courtesy call. As they proceeded with the welcoming visit, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts accompanied Professor Falola to the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Michael Odey. Professor Odey affectionately referred to the occasion as the “visit by the Ancestor,” acknowledging Professor Falola’s profound influence on the field of history and academia as a whole.
The highlight of Professor Falola’s visit will be his Distinguished Lecture on the theme “Transformational Values,” scheduled for tomorrow, October 26, 2023, at the University auditorium.
The University’s 30th-anniversary celebrations have taken on added significance with Professor Falola’s presence, further solidifying the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and the pursuit of transformational values in the field of history and beyond.
