Fay Wood has an extensive exhibition history beginning in the 1960's,when it was difficult for women to have their work shown. We had been told "Women's work doesn't sell". Finally, in the city where she was living ,she and a group of women artists banded together and formed their own Gallery - it is still active today! From there, Wood went on to win the Proskauer Prize ,National Sculpture Society; the work shown in NYC,and Brookgreen Gardens,S.C.; Biennale Contemporanea D'ell Arte,Florence,Italy; Across the Ocean,Cologne, Germany; won four competitions on Artrepreneur, an online gallery, An interview with Burt Wolfe ,filmed for PBS;several interviews in Private Air Magazine and Art Market magazine,; 4th place , Women United Art Prize 2023; An interview and viewing by Robert Langdon of her work as a farewell to her before she moves from the Hudson Valley of New York State to Greensboro,North Carolina, where she has bought a house and will establish a new studio. Wood's passion is sculpture,however. She studied painting and drawing at Massachusetts College of art and sculpture with Wolfgang Behl,and is now accomplished in Painting both on canvas and the antique art of Reverse oil painting on glass, Drawing, Tapestry,which she did when she was without a studio in her travels,and recently,Collage.
